Here you will find everything you need technically to get started at FH Wedel: PC labs, login details and the most important websites.

The PC labs

• Five PC labs with around 25 workstations each. Your contact is Christian Krug.
• A sixth lab in the media building for B_MInf and B_CGT. Your contact is Michael Hinck.
• All computers run a dual boot: Microsoft Windows and Linux Ubuntu.

Your storage space

You get a personal storage area of 2 GBthat stays available permanently.

• On Windows your Windows profile is ready to use, on Linux you find it in the folder /mnt.
• On Linux you use your Linux profile, on Windows it is mounted as the network drive L: .

Important: Files you store anywhere else will be lost. Save everything in your profile.

Your login details

There are three different logins. That is confusing at first, so here is the overview:

• Campus account (username stud<Matrikelnummer>): login on the PC lab computers, in Moodle and in MyCampus. You can change the password.
• LDAP account: login for Gitea and the WLAN.
• MS365 account: login for Teams and Office online.

The most important websites

• Vorlesungsplan at stundenplan.fh-wedel.de. It is published between 14 days and one day before lectures start.
• MyCampus at mycampus.fh-wedel.de: registration for courses and exams, fees, grades, enrolment certificate and transcript of records.
• Moodle at lms.fh-wedel.de: all content and information about your courses.
• TV information system (via fh-wedel.de under Studieren, Information): short-notice cancellations and announcements.
• Library: catalogue via OPAC, e-books via the EBSCO database. Both only inside the university network or via VPN.

Working from home: VPN

Some services of the university can only be reached from inside the university network. With a VPN connection your computer is treated as if you were sitting at the FH.

• You can find the instructions at intern.fh-wedel.de under Rechenzentren, RZ-Informationen, Für Studierende und Schüler.
• There, under Remote-Zugang, choose Zugang per SSL-VPN.
• Install the software WatchGuard and then load the profile file into it.

Three things that are often overlooked

• Registering for courses: MyCampus is always the binding one. In Moodle you only enrol in the course; depending on the course rules the Moodle registration comes on top of it.
• The average grade in MyCampus is a snapshot. It averages all modules of your study plan that have been graded so far. If you have changed study regulations, you will see several plans with different averages. For applications and BAföG use
• Watch out for special dates such as exam days, Verfügungstage and further training days. There are also surprises like „Monday timetable applies“.
