What exactly is that?
The AStA is voluntary work by students for students at universities, universities of applied sciences and vocational colleges.
In Wedel we are organised as „Studentenschaft an der FH/BFS Wedel e.V.“ and are therefore independent of the university itself.

You can come to us at any time with questions, suggestions and problems, and we will do our best to support you.
General assembly
This takes place once in the first month of each semester. We discuss where we stand, look back on what has happened and set new goals.
The public is welcome to attend, watch out for the notice on our door.
Event planning
The core of our work for student community and some variety in everyday university life.
You can find all our events here.
Election of the student representatives
We regularly hold elections to find our student representatives. The various committees actively shape how the university develops.
You do not have to be a member of the AStA to stand for election.

Besides a lot of fun with our other members, you can practise teamwork and project management, plan great events and have a say in university politics.

How can I join the AStA?
Fill in your membership application and bring it to us in the Büro or send it to us by email to asta@fh-wedel.de
What can I get involved in?
We can always use a helping hand, whether right in the middle of things or behind the scenes.
– Events: organising and running events
– Public relations: looking after our channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and more)
– IT and digitalisation: improving and extending this website
– Office: making sure everything stays reasonably tidy and clean
– Student representation: running the election for the student representatives
– Organising assemblies

I am a BFS pupil, can I still join?
Of course. Some of our longest-serving and most committed members are or were BFS pupils.
I have an idea. Who can I talk to?
Great, we are glad about any constructive input.

Is membership subject to a fee?
Yes, but at 5 euros per semester the membership is well worth it.
Do you also offer sports activities?
That is not our field. Have a look at University sports instead.

University politics: here you can have a say
FH Wedel has several committees in which students help take decisions. Each one has one or two student representatives, elected for two years.

The main point: Anyone can apply. You do not need to be a member of the AStA. If one of the committees interests you, just write to us at asta@fh-wedel.de.
